Many winter holidays, such as Yule, utilize the symbol of the tree as part of the celebration. This goes back to the Celts, who did not understand and were frightened by the seasonal changes of the moon and sun waxing and waning. The Druids did, however, understand what was going on, and thus the Druids would go to the top of a mountain on the Winter Solstice and burn a tree as part of their ceremony, and in the days following this the Celts noticed that the days were starting to get longer, which made them happy. Christians took the idea of the tree on fire and translated it into today’s Christmas tree with lights. As it was in the original celebration, so too can you make the Christmas tree be the focal point of your holiday decorating and celebration.

Your entire decorating motif this holiday season could easily be wrapped up in the Christmas tree. You could use trees in all their forms as the underlying theme for all of your Christmas decor.

In addition to the classic evergreen tree that many families purchase and decorate during the holiday season, there are other ways to bring trees into your decorations for Christmas. There are ceramic Christmas trees, for example. These are much smaller than a real tree, and thus provide you with many more decorating possibilities for placing them around the rooms of your home.

You might, for example, choose a Disney Fifty-Character tabletop ceramic Christmas tree as part of your Christmas decor. This ornately decorated tree features ten scenes, twenty LED lights and four tiers of movement provided by a miniature train that climbs to the top of the tree, as well as holiday music emanating from it. For all the chocolate lovers, there is an M&M’s Tabletop tree with sleigh bells and M&M ornaments.

The Painter of Light, Thomas Kinkade, also has produced several ceramic Christmas trees, which include the City Sidewalks animated musical tree, and the Winter Festival illuminated rotating tree. The City Sidewalks tree features that classic holiday tune, Silver Bells, and shows shoppers strolling along a holiday scene filled with brightly-lit stores. The Winter Festival tree is unique in that it captures the fun of carnival rides along with the Christmas theme, with a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, and sky swing, all of which lights up and has motion added for a fun holiday decoration.

Fine collectibles merchants online offer these and other types of Christmas decor perfect for this holiday season.
